Preinjective modules over pure semisimple rings

For a left pure semisimple ring R, it is shown that the local duality establishes a bijection between the preinjective left R-modules and the preprojective right R-modules, and any preinjective left R-module is the source of a left almost split morphism. Moreover, if there are no nonzero homomorphisms from preinjective modules to non-preinjective indecomposable modules in R-mod, the direct sum of all non-preinjective indecomposable direct summands of products of preinjective left R-modules is a finitely generated product-complete module. This generalizes a recent theorem of Angeleri Hügel [L. Angeleri Hügel, A key module over pure-semisimple hereditary rings, J. Algebra 307 (2007) 361-376] for hereditary rings.     

Nuclear moments and charge radius changes in platinum isotopes

Isotope shift (IS) and hyperfine structure (HFS) measurements have been performed for^{185, 187, 189, 191, 195}Pt using the PILIS (Post ISOCELE Laser Isobar Separator) apparatus installed at the ISOCELE facility. Magnetic and quadrupole moments have been deduced from the HFS results. The charge radius changes determined for these odd nuclei from the IS results, added to the σ<r²> values of the even-A nuclei are compared to the results of lattice Hartree-Fock+BCS calculations for asymmetric solutions:¹⁸⁵Pt is confirmed to be prolate shaped whereas^{187, 189, 191}Pt are likely triaxial in their ground states.     

Electromagnetic Interaction of Leptons in the Theory of United Space

In this paper we calculate some effective cross-sections of leptons on the basis of S-matrix constructed in 8-dimensional united space [1]. The Lagrangian is chosen, within the framework of the 0 (71) group classification of elementary particles. Electromagnetic interaction does not change the internal structure of the participating particles. The results obtained agree well with experiments.     

Cohen-Macaulay and Gorenstein property of Rees algebras of non-singular equimultiple prime ideals

We give criteria for the Cohen-Macaulay and Gorenstein property of Rees algebras of height 2 non-singular equimultiple prime ideals in terms of explicite representations of the associated graded rings. As consequences, we show that in general, the Cohen-Macaulay resp. Gorenstein property of such Rees algebras does not imply the Cohen-Macaulay resp. Gorenstein property of the base ring and that these properties depend upon the characteristic. Syntomic regulators and special values of p-adic L-functions

In this paper p-adic analogs of the Lichtenbaum Conjectures are proven for abelian number fields F and odd prime numbers p, which generalize Leopoldt's p-adic class number formula, and express special values of p-adic L-functions in terms of orders of K-groups and higher p-adic regulators. The approach uses syntomic regulator maps, which are the p-adic equivalent of the Beilinson regulator maps. They can be compared with étale regulators via the Fontaine-Messing map, and computations of Bloch-Kato in the case that p is unramified in F lead to results about generalized Coates-Wiles homomorphisms and cyclotomic characters. Deformation change between184mAu and184gAu

Isotope shift and hyperfine structure measurements have been performed on the short lived¹⁸⁴Au nucleus using the COMPLIS apparatus installed at ISOLDE. The charge radius change and the magnetic and quadrupole moments of both isomeric and ground states have been deduced. The¹⁸⁴Au ground state appears to be slightly more deformed than the isomeric state.     

Nouvelle methode de detection des resonances optiques par deviation magnetique d'un jet atomique

We propose a method to be used in the investigation of the hyperfine structure and isotope shift of ²⁵Na. This method has been tested with a ²³Na beam and the limit of the signal-to-noise ratio expected with this method is discussed.

Let p be an odd prime. For any CM number field K containing a primitive p^th-root of unity, class field theory and Kummer theory put together yield the well known reflection inequality ^+– between the plus and minus parts of the -invariant of K. Greenbergs conjecture asserts that ⁺ is always trivial. We study here a weak form of this conjecture, namely ⁺=^– if and only if ⁺=^–=0.
